They’re baaaaack~.

It looks like Goodsmile Company will be giving the original Crypton Vocaloid nendoroid series (minus Meiko) yet another run on the market. If any of you missed them on their first run, now you’ll have another chance! Pre-orders through a few sites are now open, and the release date will be in July. Anime Island seems to offer the cheapest prices, so I’ll provide links for those.

Miku | Rin | Len | Kaito | Luka

The nendoroids look like they will even include all of their original accessories. Not a lot of products get a second run like this, so try and scrape up the $$$ before they’re gone! Thank you very much to tomopop for the news blip. You can find additional pre-order sources from there.

I know some members of the wikia page are lurking around, so I thought I’d leave a message here for them and everyone else to see.

Here is the page in question: http://savemiku.wikia.com/wiki/Case7_mikufan.com

There still continues to be a very heavy mis-understanding of my intentions about the “Save Miku” movement. It was not my intention to stop the Save Miku movement at all, but rather stop the continued reposting of topics and videos. There was already more than enough. It started getting out of control to the point where even people in my own youtube subscriptions were reprinting “save miku” videos an entire 3 months after the incidents first happened.

On top of all of this, I was observing a lot of internal conflict within the community. People were fighting each other and pointing fingers at different groups, and even different races. It was extremely painful for someone like me to watch. I myself have been called a “filthy little Korean” (I’m not even Korean) by people claiming I’m trying to hurt Miku. I’m doing anything but that. I’m trying to keep us from hurting ourselves.

We’re all here because we love Hatsune Miku, we love music, and we love the community. This is something the community needs a little more of: Love, compassion, and understanding. So taking my message (and the message by Scott of mikustar.com) completely out of context and making things look more complicated and negative was completely unnecessary, and not to mention hurtful.

Lastly, there is a claim that the email we received from Crypton was misunderstood or taken out of context. I’ll paste the exact response as it was, so you’ll see there was no misunderstanding. I’m not expecting an apology from anyone, but I hope things are now more clear between both sides. Thank you.

Regarding SAVE MIKU Movement, the deletion problem has been almost
solved and we have nothing to announce so far. We hope you understand.

SEGA has launched a new webpage dedicated to information on the next Project Diva game arriving on the PS Vita this August. Curiously enough, the game goes with the simple title of “Project Diva F”. There is certainly a much deeper meaning to this title that I’m unaware of, but I do have some ideas (F is the 6th letter of the alphabet, and this is the 6th PjD game launched on a Sony platform).

EDIT: A comment from PSEUDO SAMMY – ““f” is also a dynamic sign in music meaning “forte”, that is “loud” or “strong”. It indicates or calls for loudness, or an increase in volume. And judging by the design of the f in the logo, which exactly resembles how it appears as a musical notation, I’m willing to bet that’s part of it.”. Thanks for the info!

There is a lot to cover on this one visually, so please check the full story for more info! Continue reading »

The Vocaloid community has had its fair share of impressive 3DPVs over the years. I remember back to the days when Melody.exe held the crown for top animation work in 2007. And then things were taken to the next level in Nebula by Tripshots in 2009. And in the year of 2012… We get this. The lyrics and music was done by BANQO(rest or stay?), and the arrangement was done by kors k. Lastly, the movie was created by Aono.Y.

This musical piece, if I’m reading the description correctly, makes use of 5 different voices/Vocaloids. The list mentions GUMI, Miku, Miku Dark Append, Miku Soft Append, and VY1. I absolutely love Vocalectro (Vocaloid+Electro) music, so my opinion for the music may be somewhat biased. But the animation in this is just astounding. You can watch the original on nicovideo by clicking here, or you can watch the official YouTube version below. The involved artists have done an AMAZING job with this. Scott of mikustar.com has also written his own article, honoring this PV as a “6 star” quality production.

In yet another F5 spamfest, many fans have observed Hatsune Miku’s facebook fanpage reaching 500k likes (easily breezing past the Vocaloid facebook fanpage). It moved too quickly to catch it at exactly 500,000, so the image above is the best I managed to get.

To celebrate the event, the page will start to cycle through a new fan-made header image every day for two weeks. Congratulations to Hatsune Miku for the achievement, and of course thanks to all the fans who helped her get there!

[EDITED 5/16/2012]: And coincidentally, not long after this event, mikubook.com has celebrated its 1 million favorites milestone. Congratulations once again!
