Crypton Future Media and VOCALOID YAMAHA have announced a live stream event for July 24th at 7:00 PM JST, where they plan to announce the release of new Vocaloid products. Due to timing and the companies involved, it is highly suspected that Hatsune Miku English (and/or V3) and V3 Meiko will be announced. This is currently speculation, however.

The announcement will be hosted by Crypton’s CEO Hiroyuki Itoh and VOCALOID YAMAHA’s chief engineer Kenmochi Hideki, and will last for 1 hour.

A Japanese game developer that goes by the name of “Nao_u” has released another virtual reality demo to add to the collection of demos viewable on his YouTube channel.

Each new demo release uses a different set of hardware, and this time the demo makes use of the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset, and Razer’s Hydra controller system.

Just like with his previous demos, Nao_u developed the program to allow the user to play as Hatsune Miku. The Razer Hydra control system allows individual finger movements, creating a variety of different ways to allow the player to interact with the environment. This could be simply touching or moving objects, or even firing off energy blasts.

Watch the demo below for yourself! The song playing through most of the video is the instrumental for “Tesu Tesu Broadcast.proj” by DaniwellP.
