Recent buzz has been circulating about SEGA of Japan’s interest in bringing Project Diva Arcade (or some version of it) to select home consoles, and they have opened a poll on their own DIVA.NET site to gauge interest from fans.

The idea is intriguing, as SEGA has expressed in the past that they were interested in making a game similar to Project Diva Arcade for the PS4, due to its new touch-enabled controller. But simply porting the full Arcade game to home consoles could negatively impact the popularity of the actual arcade units. So SEGA might be considering some other kind of idea.

Many sites seem to have excluded how to vote from their own news publications, so we’re happy to help with that. Please note that voting requires a DIVA.NET account (which requires proper registration with your Project Diva Arcade card). There is a 300vp reward for completing the survey. Voting ends April 24th (JST)!

In a live stream earlier today, SEGA announced that the Project Diva game series has totaled 2.5 million units in sales. The series also just celebrated its 5th anniversary today on July 2nd.

Another big announcement was regarding the western release of an enhanced version of Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai 2 for the Nintendo 3DS titled “Project Mirai Remix” (working title), with a scheduled release due sometime in 2015. Since the second game release also included the songs from the first, it would make sense for the Western release of Project Mirai to start with the second game in the series. This is also the first time a Hatsune Miku game has been released on a Nintendo console outside of Japan.

The details of these “enhancements” are yet to be revealed, but the game will still have all the features of the Japanese release:

Hatsune Miku: Project MIRAI Remix features characters rendered in beautiful stereoscopic 3D, with two different rhythm game modes (button and touch) and three difficulties per song. Players will enjoy a highly customizable experience with user customization options for button icons and sounds, character costumes and gear for the character rooms. Players can create and share personalized player cards that show off who you are as well as create customized dance routines to the songs, your own musical phrase and personalized comments about their favorite in-game videos, all via StreetPass. The game also utilizes the AR card and photo capabilities of the Nintendo 3DS to bring characters to life in 3D.

July 2nd 2014 will mark the 5 year anniversary since the release of the first Hatsune Miku: Project Diva game for PSP, after which many new games followed. To celebrate the occasion, SEGA will be throwing a memorial event at the Tokyo JOYPOLIS center from June 23rd until July 27th.
