We’re still a day away from the reveal of the details of Xiaomi’s collaboration with Hatsune Miku, but that hasn’t stopped nearly the full details about the campaign from leaking!

Thanks to leaks, we know that Xiaomi will announce a special Hatsune Miku edition of their Mi 6X phone, which is a premium mid-range device. This is a step up from last year’s Miku edition Redmi Note 4X, which was a budget mid-range.

The Miku Edition Mi 6X bundle will include the phone, along with their well-known Mi powerbank (likely the 10,000 mAh model). Both of which will feature lineart on the backside by an illustrator we’re friends with, @ZY_Remix!

The full collaboration details will be officially announced on June 28th, China time, while the expected launch date is July 3rd. It will be priced at 2099 Chinese Yuan ($320 USD). Here’s what we know about the device, according to the alleged leaks:

Special Hatsune Miku Edition Xiaomi
– Screen: 5.99″ at 1080×2160
– Chipset: Snapdragon 660 CPU, Adreno 512 GPU
– RAM/Storage: 6GB/128GB
– Front Camera: 20MP (f1.8)
– Rear Cameras: 12MP (f1.8) + 20MP (f1.8)
– Battery: 3010 mAh
– OS: Android 8.1 / MIUI 9.5
– Rear Fingerprint

The phone is said to launch on July 3rd on Xiaomi’s Chinese webstore, but we’ll know for sure after the official announcements tomorrow. Stay tuned! As a bonus, here’s a short video released by Xiaomi for reaching 2 million points on their support campaign, as well as a teaser artwork posted by one of the campaign illustrators, Mame no Moto.

Just a few days left until the Miku Expo 2018 USA and MX tour kicks off, and Los Angeles is the first stop of the tour on June 29th! We’re also happy to announce that one one of our staff (the one currently writing) will be attending the Los Angeles event, and we’re also giving away 150 sets of glow sticks, along with MikuFan.com pin badges featuring the beautiful art drawn for our website by Asahi Kuroi!

Each “MikuFan Glow Stick Bundle” includes:
– One 6″ green chemical glow stick w/ string
– One MikuFan.com pin badge (1.25″ diameter)
– One MikuFan.com contact card

The glow stick sets will be given away near the Microsoft Theater venue in the final hours leading up to the event, likely starting at about 3PM on June 29th. Feel free to come by and say hello, and grab a glow stick before they’re gone! And don’t worry, we’ll still have plenty of pin badges after the glow sticks run out!

If you’re wondering how to find MikuFan staff, look for someone wearing the MikuFan.com T-shirt seen below. We’ll see you at the event!

While we’ve already announced the news across our social media, we feel it’s important our website followers also know the good news: The fake MikuHatsuneVEVO YouTube channel we previously reported has been successfully shut down!

Previous report details here → https://www.mikufan.com/help-hatsune-miku-report-the-fake-mikuhatsunevevo-youtube-channel/

Thanks to the flood of reports from fans, YouTube was finally forced into investigating Crypton Future Media’s trademark claim against the channel and finally approved the takedown. The removal was first confirmed on June 22nd, 2018.

Lastly, there’s more good news! The official Hatsune Miku YouTube channel is now verified, so this sticky mess is not likely to happen again from here on out.

Thank you everyone for your help in reporting!

During the recent Star of Asia music festival in Almaty, Kazakhstan, well-known Vocaloid producer PinocchioP and Hatsune Miku made a live performance appearance together! The duo made their appearance towards the end of Day 2 (June 17th) of the music festival, and performed 3 songs:

Ghosts Play to the Audience
YOZURINA
Nobody Makes Sense

Hatsune Miku’s appearance at this event was accomplished via a small-scale glass panel projection, using an edited version of the Tsumi-type Hatsune Miku MikuMikuDance model, co-edited by Crypton Future Media for the event. Hatsune Miku also MC’d a little bit of Russian speech, which is certainly exciting! The whole event was streamed live online, and to various global media networks.

Watch the full performance below, and check out the tweets of photos from the show! Continue reading »
